Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully. They govern your access to and use of Docme and all related services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Docme ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Service. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Your Account

Registration

To use Docme, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.

Account security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at security@docme.cc if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account. Docme is not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

One account per user

Each person may maintain only one personal account. Organizational accounts may be shared by authorized team members within your organization.

3. Acceptable Use

Permitted use

You may use Docme to upload, store, manage, share, and track documents that you own or have the legal right to share. You may use the Service for personal or commercial purposes within the limits of your subscription plan.

Prohibited content

You may not upload or share content that violates any law; infringes any intellectual property right; contains malware, viruses, or malicious code; is defamatory, abusive, or harassing; or is otherwise harmful. Docme reserves the right to remove violating content and terminate accounts.

Prohibited activities

You may not attempt to reverse engineer the Service; access other users' data without authorization; use automated tools to scrape or overload the Service; resell or sublicense access to the Service; or use the Service to send unsolicited communications.

4. Intellectual Property

Your content

You retain all intellectual property rights in the documents you upload to Docme. By uploading content, you grant Docme a limited, non-exclusive license to store and transmit your content solely to provide you with the Service.

Docme IP

The Docme platform, including its software, design, trademarks, and all other IP, is owned by Docme, Inc. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our explicit written consent.

5. Payment and Subscriptions

Billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All prices are in USD unless otherwise stated. By providing a payment method, you authorize Docme to charge you for the plan you have selected.

Refunds

We offer a 14-day refund on annual plans if you are not satisfied. Monthly subscriptions are not refunded for partial billing periods. Refund requests must be submitted within the eligible period at billing@docme.cc.

Plan changes and cancellation

You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. Downgraded plans' storage limits are enforced at the next billing cycle.

6. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DOCME SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO DOCME IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

7. Termination

You may close your account at any time from your profile settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, present a security risk, or we are required to do so by law. Upon termination, your access to the Service ceases and your data will be deleted in accordance with our data retention policy.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Delaware.
